1975 OSLO BLUE VW PICKUP

We are thrilled to present to you this amazing 1975 Volkswagen Type 1 Pickup Truck that has been fully restored and customized. It was produced in the Split window version during the last year of production at the Volkswagen do Brazil factory.

This beautiful VW Pickup was discovered in a closed garage. It was in pristine condition and had previously belonged to the original owner’s grandson. Although it was well-preserved and free of any rust, the paint had faded over time, and the interior was completely deteriorated. We carefully disassembled the car and painted it in two-tone colors – Aquamarine Blue (paint code 1957 Porsche by PPG) and Vanilla. To finish it off, we applied a high-quality clear coat that gave it a brand-new appearance.

The original 1500cc air-cooled engine of the vehicle was replaced with a more powerful 1835cc engine. The new engine is fitted with a P2 engine cam and Solex 40 carburetors, along with electronic ignition. The vehicle also has a 4×2 exhaust system which creates a very aggressive roar. With this upgrade, the vehicle now has around 85 to 90 hp which makes it a lot more fun to drive.

Transmission completely redone with precise shifting and is now a 4-speed free-way flyer. The front suspensions have also been rebuilt, with the addition of a height adjustment system. The rear suspension has been restored to its original standard, with a 2-inch lower stance. The steering gear has been replaced with a new, modernly manufactured one, equipped with a bearing system that ensures smoother and more precise steering, which is much better than the original. Both the front and rear drum brake systems have been thoroughly redone. The wheels of the vehicle are made of Empi 15×5.5 aluminum, and new radial tires 175/65-15 have been fitted at the front and 185/65-15 at the rear, which significantly improve the steering. The entire electrical system has been replaced including the headlights, harnesses, and rear lights. We also restored the speedometer to its original style and now includes an LED light.

The exterior of the car has been upgraded with new green glasses and a Safari windshield that pops out for better ventilation, reducing the need for air conditioning. Additionally, two green Sky windows were installed on the roof, adding to the car’s beauty. The headlights have also been replaced with modern handmade units that provide better illumination and feature angel eye lanterns, which look stunning in both daylight and nighttime. The car is also fitted with a complete set of moldings from the luxury model, including ones on the sides below the doors.

But the customization doesn’t stop here, it has many items chromed both inside and outside of the car, including the two VW old stock bumpers, which were sent to get chromed. They turned out to be perfect.

Interior: Custom interior in high quality real Beige leather, new seats were hand built for more comfort in addition to the beige carpet with excellent finishing. Below the bed of this truck, we also have a fully carpeted storage unit with a fine finish. The spare tire was kept in its original position and has a fifth Empi wheel for a spare tire. This car is equipped with a fire extinguishing ball that automatically activates upon contact with fire and emits a 138-decibel alarm when deployed.

After almost 2 years of work, I believe there is no other VW Pickup from the last year of production that has received such meticulous care and attention to quality.
